Tue 6th September 2011
People with memory problems are being encouraged to avail of support provided by the Western Health and Social Care Trust including the Trust's Memory Assessment Service.

Those with an interest in memory problems, including Western Trust staff, clients, carers and relatives saw at first hand the latest technology designed to enhance the lives of people with memory problems when the Brain Bus visited Omagh recently.

Using a touch screen computer participants completed puzzles and games, listened to their favourite music or watched part of an old movie. They were also able to try out the cycling, driving and flying simulators.

Joe Travers, Head of Older People's Mental Health Services in the Western Trust, said: "This was a wonderful opportunity for people who are concerned about their memory to experience what the Brain Bus has to offer and also to raise awareness about the Western Trust's Memory Assessment Service."
